Dutch rent control laws ignored in many student cities — but not Rotterdam and The Hague
An Argos investigation reveals that six in ten student rooms on Kamernet are overpriced, and municipalities like Utrecht, Nijmegen, and Amsterdam fail to enforce rent control. Rotterdam and The Hague are exceptions with active enforcement. Nationwide, rents rose 4.4% and the student housing shortage remains above 20,200 homes.
